pdpa "Photo Art Friday"

The challenge was to share a macro image with any manipulation that pleased us! (mine are faux macro)
I couldn't seem to bring myself to manipulate the fruit blossoms above,
but I did add filters to some of the photos below.

Texture Thursday

Just before it started snowing on Monday I managed to capture a few shots of my sister's ONE crabapple blossom that was in my view.

The wind would have been great for sailing, but tough on photography, and ended up holding the little branch with one hand while clicking away with the other!

By next weekend all the crabapple trees should be in full bloom,
and I'm looking forward to the vibrancy of color!

Instagram

I am so excited!
I am now one of 15,000+ Android users that has Instagram!

As blogged earlier, Instagram has only been available to iPhone users and it is just a HUGE deal . . . particularly for those (me) who didn't have access to it!

First thing I did when I downloaded Instagram into my Droid was take pictures; a picture of my computer screen, a picture of the peach tree, and a picture of my one and only artificial flower arrangement!

Photo of PSE workspace on my computer screen.
Peach tree, none worse for wear after the snowstorm.
Flower arrangement my sister gave me YEARS ago, that I never dust and will NEVER give up!

Instagram offers various processing formats that can be used with photos taken with your phone camera!  Sites have been set up specific to Instagram photos, with followers, favorites, yada, yada . . and I was just devastated that I didn't have Instagram.

Now I have it!
And now I'll see if I was really missing something or just being a brat!
PS: Not to be remiss, I also set up an account to show off my Instagram photos at INK361

52 Photos Project: A time to share {me, a self portrait}

Bella's prompt for this week is "self portrait".

You'll find me behind the camera,
but very seldom in front of the camera;
unless of course it's a group shot,
and I have no choice!

Three Muses ~ Umbrella

April showers meant snow in Santa Fe,
so I'm entering two pieces;
one imagined . . .

When it Rains it Pours

April Showers

and one using a photograph taken this morning combined with a beach scene;
can you guess where I'd rather be?

Entries posted for the THREE MUSES challenge are great, check them out!

Life in the high mountain desert . . .

weekend temperatures were in the 70's,
yesterday it snowed,
today we are (supposedly) warming back up into the 60's,
I'm thankful for the moisture,
but I would have preferred rain!

{Texture Tuesday} The Soft eDition

"White...is not a mere absence of color; it is a shining and affirmative thing, as fierce as red, as definite as black...God paints in many colors; but He never paints so gorgeously, I had almost said so gaudily, as when He paints in white." G. K. Chesterton
