PhotoArt Friday ~ March 9 - 11

This week Bonnie (Pixel Dust Photo Art) suggested that we showcase any piece of your photo art, OR a piece of photo art that has elements 'hidden in plain sight'.

Because it was something new, and I enjoyed Bonnie's example, I went with the hidden element!

"Beauty"/Wicked on Vivid Light@69% and Dreams of Spring on Hard Light @ 100%
"Gratitude"/Blue Me Away on Vivid Light @66% and Splash of Gold on Color Burn @42%

"Hidden in plain sight" is a word and an object in both pieces.

Texture Thursday

Decided to try out Audrey's Texture Thursday, the only rule being that your photo have an addition of a texture, or that your photograph have lots of texture in it!  I'm going for the photo with a texture overlay!

I am in love with Bonnie's (Pixel Dust Photo Art) texture "Dreams of Spring", and while I can't seem to push spring into action, I can daydream!  Today's daydreams seem to be centering around what volunteers, both annual and perennial, will come up this year!

Last spring I transplanted morning glory volunteers (from my pots and from my sister's yard) and planted them against the wall where I currently have Virginia Creeper growing.  Primarily, because I love morning glories, and because I thought the added "touch of color" would be fun!

Now I'm anxious to see how many morning glory volunteers' I'll have coming up this summer!

And just so you'll know, some volunteers escaped the transplant list and continued to thrive in the flower pots!

52 Photos Project/Week 46

What is home to you?
A place?
A person?
A room?
A feeling?
Where do you go
when it's time
to go home?

 This Is Home
and my sisters will always be home!
I live in Santa Fe, NM, the high mountain desert (7000' above sea level), and Santa Fe is where I was born, raised and live - but when I think about home, the greatest feelings of being home, of the emotion evoked by being home, it will always be near the ocean!  I love the ocean, I feel like I am home when sitting seaside, watching/listening to the waves, the sea birds - for me that is being home!

{Texture Tuesday} happy heart

For this weeks edition of Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday, we were to use at least one copy of her gifted texture, "happy heart".

Appropriate, at least for me; my heart is happy, for a lot of reasons, but also because spring is coming which was evident when I saw the tight little buds popping out on my old native apricot!

Your Sunday Best #6

Had great plans for Nancy Claeys (A Rural Journey) 'Your Sunday Best', and that plan was to take some photos of spring!

I know better than that!  Spring has not sprung, except for in my imagination; just because the sky is blue and the sun is bright, it is still cold, and no matter how hard I try, I can't change the timing of spring in the high mountain desert!

What I did find though was new spring green nettles on the pines, a sure sign spring is coming . . .

Spring I
Spring II
Spring III
All photos were rendered by blending various filters in PSE, and Spring I has a new grunge texture (#8) by Nancy Donaldson at all pulped out.

Spring is sprung
Da grass is riz
I wonder where dem boidies iz
Da little boids is on da wing
Ain't dat absoid
Da little wings is on da boid
