I spent Easter in Hope, NM

Hope is a village in Eddy County.

One tradition says the community was named as the result of a coin toss.

Two settlers tossed a dime into the air and one said, "I hope you lose"

 

I thought it was named by the residents who were always hoping for rain...

Ranunculus

In the language of flowers, a bouquet of ranunculus says,

"I am dazzled by your charm"

and I was absolutely charmed by this ranunculus.

Lots of layers going on here

the base is a photo of an old mercantile,

with pieces of the original cut out

layered with an old newspaper,

layered with sunflowers,

a texture and a frame

 and in the original photograph there are layers as well!

{Tuesday Muse} March 26th

I visited my photo archives and came up with a photo taken one year ago today.

 

The photo is of my dwarf peach tree

which today is still in the grips of winter

and nary a bud to be seen!

 

Wonder if it is a conspiracy?

While this post was ready to go early this morning, I have been unable to post to my blog; have been trying to 'trick-it' on and off all day today to not avail.  Finally decided to try Explorer (I'm a Foxfire user) and low and behold, I'm posting!
