{Texture Tuesday} Something Orange

during this month's Cutting Horse Competition.

Mandarin Orange Monday #10 ~ the old shed

Just back from a branding weekend in Hope.

The owner of the ranch that I love to visit just bought the neighboring ranch

which, beside acreage, included a house and several outbuildings.

While poking around his newest acquisition,

we found an old Buick in one of the old shed's.

Just love finding treasurer's!

Three Muses ~ Turquoise

The Three Musses theme this week is turquoise.

I had been working on a piece without a reason ... and this week's theme gave me a perfect outlet!

With the busy work and travel of summer coming to an end and the beginning of autumn

I plan to again participate a little more fully in the Three Muses, an endeavor I enjoy!

Mandarin Orange Monday #9 ~ Fall is Approaching

Fall is approaching and I have just spent most of the morning

cutting back the faded blooms of summer.

Marigolds though, in their perky oranges and yellows, don't fade in fall...

they become even more spectacular!

Your Sunday Best #34 ~ Fall is in the Air

We went from a week of temperatures in the high 80's and low 90's,

to the past few days in the low 60's with nighttime temperatures in the mid 40's...

Fall is definitely in the air!

I haven't participated in "Tones on Tuesday" in quite a while.

The challenge "is to share one photo where you have altered the tones.

Such as a black and white, sepia toned,

selective coloring or colored photo."

After rendering this photo of my niece Sierra,

I decided it would be ideal for the Tones on Tuesday challenge.

Bella's challenge this week is doorways;

 

"An Entrance.

But to where?"

I was intrigued by this doorway;

I love the moss, the aged brick, the stains,

the sense of non-use ...

yet in my minds eye, I know

that this door opens into

a magical secret garden.
