Photo Art Friday/July 6th-8th ~ Architectural Edition

Bonnie's prompt this week is to post photo art that in someway relates to architecture.

My first thought was to use photos of our 'pueblo style' architecture
that is so familiar to those who have visited north central New Mexico.

It is a beautiful style of architecture, but today I was in a 'seen one, seen um all' state of mind.
Instead I chose to post photos that I took looking down on the scenes of Florence.

It was an early, cool and cloudy morning when I took these shots,
but as I looked across at the sites of Florence it was magnificent!
All the varying styles of architecture,
dating back centuries and centuries, all melding together!

I was inspired!

(I was also inspired by Bonnie's texture "Mauve Threads", which is used on all three captures.
Vivid light@100% and masked out what I wanted to draw your eye to.)

In Paris, you learn wit, in London you learn to crush your social rivals,
and in Florence you learn poise.” Virgil Thomson

Wow! What great subject matter and you have added some romance and maybe whimsy with the addition of the texture. Great masking work, btw - I would want that texture to impede on the view of those amazing bldgs. Thank you so much for sharing your work with Photo Art Friday, Deborah.

Now you have inspired me also. Florence is such a gorgeous city and Bonnies texture looks perfect just as you have processed it! Lovely and glad you left the pueblo style for another time!

Beautiful views!

Lovely how the added texture makes the linear aspects of the architecture really pop in contrast. I like how it adds a tinge of Van Gogh swirl to the sky.

Oh my gosh your subject material is just awesome. There is some great architecture there for sure. I love the first 2 edits. They almost look like fairy tale buildings. I think Bonnie said it best about a touch of "Whimsy" with the texture.

Love Florence. One of my favourite places. In the first photo the main sand/orange building sticks out beautifully against the blue!
