Your Sunday Best #39 ~ Last Rose of Summer

Seems we may be skipping autumn all together and heading straight into winter!
I did managed to capture the last rose in my garden before winter sets in!
 ’TIS the last rose of summer
  Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
  Are faded and gone;
No flower of her kindred,
  No rosebud is nigh,
To reflect back her blushes,
  To give sigh for sigh.

Photo Art Friday ~ Liquid

Bonnie's prompt for this week is liquid,
which gave me an opportunity to use two of too many
nondescript photos taken of "Lemon Bay".

Bonnie's pdpa textures: Blue Depths, Splash of Gold and Leafy Landscape

Bonnie is very generous and often gift's her sensational, creative textures from Pixel Dust Photo Art;

it is with these gifts that I have rendered my photos for this week's prompt.

Thank you Bonnie.

5 fact friday ~ October 12 Edition

1.)  I could have a house full of animals if my life didn't involve so much time away from home.

2.)  TV is time consuming ... a great reason for never watching it!

3.)  Movies are time consuming ... a great excuse for never going!

4.)  Reading is my pastime of choice; you can read anywhere, pick it up, put it down and reward yourself for a job well done, meaning a whole bunch of uninterrupted reading time!

5.)  My biggest peeve is conversations about the weather - too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry.

This is a 'momma dog' that lives at the Rocking Horse Ranch.

She is an Australian Sheppard/Corgy mix and absolutely adorable!

She has the looks of an Australian Sheppard, including one brown eye and one blue eye,
her tail is cropped and she has the short legged body of a Corgy!

She also just recently had six pups, each one totally different,
and oh, how I'd love to bring one home!

52 Photos Project Gallery 25 ~ Still Life

Bella's prompt this week is still life.

My life abounds with still life's ...
inanimate objects that I have fallen in love with,
collections from my travels, gifts from family and friends that grace every flat surface in my home.

From a primitive wooden bowl that is rearranged every year
with the newest collection of shells from my yearly retreat to the Gulf of Mexico
to a gifted muerte comb from Mexico that is displayed in a box from Lhasa
that also holds foreign currency and my treasured straw applique boxes.

It is the still life of special moments,
love of family and endearing friendships that surround me.

Your Sunday Best #38 ~ Rocking Horse Ranch

New Mexico is the 5th most extensive,
the 36th most populous,
and the 6th least densely populated state
of the 50 United States.

In other words, New Mexico is a big rural state.

A 15 minute drive in just about any direction from
the center of Santa Fe, the capitol city,
you can find yourself in the middle of nowhere.
