Your Sunday Best #36 ~ Chris

This is Chris.
Chris is the grandson of a close friend of mine
and up until a couple of weeks ago, Chris wouldn't talk to me and
anytime I picked up my camera, Chris would disappear.
Three years of photos taken at the ranch,
Chris isn't in any of them.

Three weeks ago, Chris talked to me;
this week Chris didn't disappear when I had my camera in hand.
(admittedly, I used my zoom lens while he was climbing the cattle station)
Maybe when I see Chris in a couple of weeks,
he'll let me take a photo of him on his horse.

5 fact friday - September 21

      1.  I though I was improving on having more patience.

      2.  I love my late night snacks.

      3.  My little dog just turned 15 years old ... I've never had a dog live this long.

      4.  Being invited to the ranch is one of my greatest pleasures.

      5.  I know that the Universe ALWAYS provides ...

Photo Art Friday ~ The Beauty of Aging

Bonnie's prompt for this weeks Photo Art Friday is the Beauty of Aging.

For me, the beauty of aging is an attitude;
learning who and what you are,
appreciating who and what you are,
to never quit learning, having an interest in all that is around us.
To have patience, the willingness to forgive,
and to love for the sake of loving.

The ability to have adventures, to have and share new passions, to never quit growing, to be confident.

Linda had never ridden a horse until three years ago.
But her confidence and decision to get out there, to learn and to enjoy and participate with those she loves
is what I believe is the beauty of aging.

Edit Me Challenge ~ September 18

This week's edit challenge is a photo of a Ferris wheel taken by Sarah From Sarahs Camera.

Original Photo

It's a great photo and if I had taken it, I'd use it SOOC,
but the challenge is to edit, so edit I did.

First I took the photo through Topaz Detail to bring out the lines of the Ferris wheel;
next, I ran the 'detail' copy through Topaz Adjust to stylize it and add 'noise';
and although I thought I was finished,
I decided to apply a toy camera effect in Topaz Lens Effects and softened the vignette,
I liked the look and maybe shouldn't have, but went ahead and added a frame!

Mandarin Orange Monday #10 ~ the old shed

Just back from a branding weekend in Hope.
The owner of the ranch that I love to visit just bought the neighboring ranch
which, beside acreage, included a house and several outbuildings.

While poking around his newest acquisition,
we found an old Buick in one of the old shed's.

Just love finding treasurer's!
