52 Photos Project Gallery 25 ~ Still Life

Bella's prompt this week is still life.

My life abounds with still life's ...
inanimate objects that I have fallen in love with,
collections from my travels, gifts from family and friends that grace every flat surface in my home.

From a primitive wooden bowl that is rearranged every year
with the newest collection of shells from my yearly retreat to the Gulf of Mexico
to a gifted muerte comb from Mexico that is displayed in a box from Lhasa
that also holds foreign currency and my treasured straw applique boxes.

It is the still life of special moments,
love of family and endearing friendships that surround me.

Your Sunday Best #38 ~ Rocking Horse Ranch

New Mexico is the 5th most extensive,
the 36th most populous,
and the 6th least densely populated state
of the 50 United States.

In other words, New Mexico is a big rural state.

A 15 minute drive in just about any direction from
the center of Santa Fe, the capitol city,
you can find yourself in the middle of nowhere.

Texture Tuesday ~ Free and Easy

These little wildflowers abound in Santa Fe in the fall ...
anywhere there is enough dirt to set seed
they'll grow, regardless of how dry it is!

Mandarin Orange Monday ~ #12

This silly little plant was rescued from a strawberry pot that had been planted
with various types of succulents about three years ago.

It doesn't do very much;
I winter it in the house, it is totally out of shape and hates sun,
yet this fall it has given me the greatest amount of joy with its 'one' stem of flowers.
